Responsibles carry the burden of our free society. They exist in every segment of the community…but they rarely form an effective network of responsibility because they don't know one another across the segments. They must find each other, learn to communicate, and find common ground. Then they can function as the keepers of the long-term agenda. ~ John Gardner

CharacterEthics Home

            Trish Hatfield

A Warm Welcome

And just for clarity right off the bat,
CharacterEthics isn't about compliance
and it isn't about finger pointing.  It's about
listening with empathy to one's self and to others.
It's about living, learning, and loving to make
better decisions based on shared core values -
such as respect, responsibility, trust, fairness,
caring, honesty.

Better decision-making is an inside and an outside job.
Character refers to what's inside - within our private
thoughts, experiences, and dreams.  Ethics refers
to how we use what's inside to connect to others -
how we move forward in the world, in our homes,
workplaces, and communities.

"OK," you might be asking, "but what's this have to do with getting things done?"

Well, if you want to spend less energy on putting out fires
and more on

  • heightening performance
  • nurturing discoveries
  • improving communication
  • encouraging leadership
  • initiating and shepherding change
  • strengthening the capacity for critical thinking

Then contact me.  I'd love to work with you.
