Communication does not depend on syntax, or eloquence, or rhetoric…but on the emotional context in which the message is being heard. People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choicest words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech. ~ Edwin H. Friedman

Facilitating a community discussion (assisted by facilitator-in-training)
Important questions continually surface in organizations and small groups: they may pertain to identity, integrity, culture & community, effectiveness, accountability, governance, communication, allocation
of resources, sustainability, and/or technology.

A collaborative approach to answering these questions enables everyone’s “voice” of experience to be mined for solutions.  In the process, people connect with new ideas and each other, generate options not previously seen, and move from problematic fear to strength-based strategic thinking and acting.

Trish has the ability to remain objective when other people are going bonkers over issues.  This is powerful, as it allows her to see through all the bluster and get at the real issues.  Dr. Carol Thom, Educator 2009

Trish is great at seeing the big picture and making it relevant to people working on the local level.  She helps people see patterns in their own behavior and in the world around them so that they are more able to see their own path forward.  Client Survey Response 2009
